Stuart has been invited to participate in Homo Faber 2026: An Island of Light , the international celebration of contemporary craftsmanship, Venice, Italy, for its fourth edition in September. This exhibition is a curated selection of excellent artists and artworks from all over the world. 
Under Es Devlin's artistic direction, Homo Faber 2026 will explore the fundamental relationship between light, materials and the human hand, creating a profound, deeply thought-provoking experience. 

The purpose of art is to excite the senses, to convey a different point of view. That doesn’t always mean being pretty. I like that my sculptures generally have an uneasy quiet tension running through them, it’s not enough for a piece to be pretty, for me it has to say something.

'Homebound' presents viewers with a quiet yet incisive critique of the human tendency to erect and dismantle barriers, whether physical or ideological. The exhibition is not merely about displacement; it is about the stories we tell ourselves to justify those displacements, and the broader implications of a world that continues to perpetuate cycles of suffering. McLachlan’s work invites us to reflect on these global narratives, subtly challenging us to re-imagine how we conceptualise ideas of home, belonging, and community.
