The glossy black cockatoo is listed as vulnerable, with some species listed as endangered. Presented under a glass cloche, it is reminiscent of the dioramas found in natural history museums – a contemporary sculptural version of the early natural history illustrations and specimen displays that existed in the Victorian era, asking the question, is this how we will see all our birds in the future?
