In Sunflowers Under Starlight, photographic artist Meg Cowell brings her ethereal image-world into conversation with the sculptural fashion of Melbourne designer Jarrod Reid. Submerging Reid’s highly constructed garments in water, Cowell removes the wearer and allows fabric, silhouette and movement to take on an uncanny life of their own. Across six new photographic works, the exhibition moves between beauty and unease, body and absence, clothing and sculpture. The collaboration will culminate in a one-night live presentation of Reid’s garments within the gallery.
