Based in Naarm / Melbourne, artist Christopher Kerley explores psychological themes like belonging, memory, time, and loss in his paintings. Using light, perspective, and colour, Kerley creates scenes that are both emotive and mysterious, evoking both stillness and unease.

Artist CV

Kerley holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts and Bachelor of Arts (Honours) from Monash University. His work has been featured in solo and group exhibitions across Australia and has been recognised as a finalist in several art awards, including the Lethbridge Landscape Prize (2025), highly commended for his artwork ‘Evening’ in the Clayton Utz Art Award (2018), Eutick Memorial Still Life Award (2018), the Alice Prize (2014), the Muswellbrook Prize (2014), the Rick Amor Drawing Prize (2012) and the Adelaide Perry Drawing Prize (2012).

His work has been featured in publications and media including the Sunday Arts Magazine, Joy 94.9 and The Australian. His work is held in the collections of the Art Gallery of Ballarat, the City of Glen Eira, the City of Port Phillip, The Royal Melbourne Hospital and in private collections.
