The work is built through layers of polymer paint, spray paint and transparent gesso, with charcoal drawing and fragments of text worked into the surface. An awkward, cartoon-like figure takes shape through repeated, overlapping charcoal lines, creating a sense of movement across the surface. Dark charcoal lines contrast with areas of pale pink, cream, grey and red, while traces of earlier marks remain visible within the layered surface.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eDrawing on memories of learning to rollerblade, the painting moves between the fear of falling and the pleasure of movement.
